GlobalGamers is an IRC network that was formed on one simple concept: gaming should be fun! Whether you live for annihilating the competition in a free-for-all FPS or you sneak in a game of Solitaire when your friends aren't watching, we understand. We know games are there to be enjoyed, and we don't want to complicate something that's supposed to be a source of entertainment.

There are a number of channels on the network that are just for discussing specific topics, not registered for individual games or organizations. These channels aren't really advertised, so if you're curious about any of the following topics, join the channel and start chatting!

#Playstation - For chatting about the Playstation platform and Playstation games
#PnC - A community for adventure game enthusiasts who enjoy games like Monkey Island, Zork, King's Quest, and Myst
#if.it.aint.dutch.it.aint.much - The quarantine area for Dutchies on GG
#CarClub - A channel for car enthusiasts
#Fitocracy - For those of you participating in Fitocracy, or anyone interested in exercise topics in general
#QuakeCon - For GG users who want to talk about QuakeCon or coordinate details related to the convention (Note: This is NOT QuakeCon's official IRC channel)
#lounge - Talk about anything!
#news - Check this channel out if you want to keep up with aggregates of various news feeds (and they're color-coded!)
#weather - A channel for keeping up with/talking about weather
#hardware - Topics include everything tech
#HelpDesk - A channel for getting help with lots of issues that aren't GG-related
#Programming - For programmers to talk about programmery things
#anime - A community for people who want to chat about anime
#NFL - A channel for fighting over American football
#WorldCup2014 - If you just can't wait to start talking about the next World Cup
#NASCAR - For people who like talking about racing
#NBA - A channel for people who are interested in professional basketball

ArkCo Spring Showdown! - Sign up now!


Hey ArkCoNauts!

It's been awhile since our last event, but we're back for more murder and mayhem, ArkCo Style! The Showdown will run from Friday, April 26th, through Sunday, April 28th. We will have gaming, an IRC quiz, and plenty of giveaways throughout the weekend. Here is the breakdown of all the events, and how and when they will be held:

THE GAMES:

Friday, April 26th - 2:00PM EST

Minecraft Madness - This will be a Minecraft PvP event featuring the popular map "The Walls." It will be done tournament style, matches of 4 players at a time, with only 1 player from each round moving on to challenge other winners. Matches will proceed till we have one person left alive! Our champion will be awarded a prize from our ever growing pool of games.

Saturday, April 27th - 11:00AM EST

Terraria Terror - This will be capture the flag team vs team combat, featuring Terraria Fortress 2! Matches will be scored by staff on hand, with teams seeking to be the first to reach 10 points. Number of players on each team, and number of rounds, will be determined by the number of sign-ups for the game. ALL participants on the winning team(s) will be awarded prizes!

Sunday, April 28th - 2:00PM EST

Edge of Space Buildoff - This event will feature both individual and team competitions. Contestants will be given 1 hour to build their best work of art in game. Both competitions will be held at the same time, with individuals to the right of spawn, and teams to the left of spawn. Staff will be on hand to take screenshots of everyone's master work, and will be judging the entries. Prizes will be awarded to one individual, and one team, with each member of the team getting a prize.
