Electronic Arts announced today the key features for the online portion of The Sims 3. In addition to the ability to trade real money in for “SimPoints” to spend on in-game items, The Sims 3 will allow players to create their own movies and post them online. The game will also feature “My Page,” a profile page for your avatar that also includes the ability to blog and post news, and “My Studio,” a section to help manage your personal movies, stories and objects.

The Sims 3 looks so ambitious and complex that we’re sure it’s only a matter of time before the game becomes self-aware, takes control of our nation’s strategic defense system, and enslaves the entire human race.
