Female Gamers Of Australia was established in late may 2009.

A Female Gamer is a Girl or Woman who;

1. Works in the game development industry, or
Regularly engages in the practice of playing video games, role-playing games, or other games [colloquially referred to as "gaming"]. This can be from the most casual interest to the most serious professional gaming, where female players often draw extra attention due to their rarity.

2. A Female gamer who enjoys playing games and regularly does so. Female gamers vary widely between the extremes of 'casual' and 'hardcore' gaming, and may be interested in any genre or type of game. They may have a particular game that they specialize in, or may play a variety of different games.

Female gamers are most often noticed in FPS games as they're rarer there, rather than in MMOGs where there are many female players.

Female gamers may also be difficult to notice outside of a game, as Female gamers often talk about things besides games while they're not playing them.

In a few months time we are planning to have a website up and running for female gamers in Australia. The website will be run by Female Gamers; This Website will contain content such as; Game reviews, Product reviews and General Gaming Events and News.
