fun place to hang out and DJ music over the internet :)
BUT FOR EVERYONE :D
I realize the new stuff is a bit much to take in; I've come back to it after long hiatuses a few times now and every time things initially feel totally wonked out. They're really not that different, though; there's just a bit more variety to what you can play, and you have annoying crap pop up every once in a while. The new stuff is really just a way to keep the replay value up. It keeps things more dynamic than if we were still playing the same vanilla version that's been out for years.
I do understand your PoV. I've been there a few times (this last being the most initially disturbing), but after a bit I got used to, and even started to enjoy, the newness. I just think it's a shame to have to play on servers less awesome than yours =/
As for the microtransactions, you can ignore those completely. Everything is findable, tradable or craftable if you don't want to buy it. Rubbed me the wrong way too when they first announced it, but I think they've been pretty reasonable with that stuff. The promotional hats are annoying, but they hardly ruin gameplay.
So, what I'm saying is, you guys should give it another chance. It's still the same TF2 it's always been. Just with new content.
