CCGC Servers
We're still alive!
After having some configuration and hosting problems, we moved our TeamSpeak server to the Chicago area.
The new IP address is: ts55.gameservers.com:9145
As summer comes around, we hope to be significantly more active in TF2 than we have been. In the meantime, many of us have been playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Stop into the TeamSpeak server to see if anyone is playing.
The TF2 server will be undergoing a rehaul in the near future (AKA: Any time after finals that we aren't feeling particularly lazy). We hope to have ramped respawn times (the fewer people in the server, the lower the respawn time), to streamline the map rotation into something more respectable, and to add a few decent community maps to the server. Coupled with consistent events and more active administration, we hope to promote our server to be much more popular and accommodating to our community.

And if it turns out that we should just scrap the idea and concentrate on seeding the server, we'll do just that. This is just an idea, we're not going to hang the server over it.
A lot of testing and criticism will be necessary to properly implement the respawn system. On one hand, many, both you and I included, prefer the default spawn times. However, when there is a 20 second respawn time with only 6 people in the server, things can get frustrating. A 6 second respawn time might be more appropriate, with the respawn time ramping up to 20 seconds again as the server fills with more people. We don't know what or if it will work yet. But this will NOT be instant respawn.
