In the meantime players can ease connection issues by getting together with a group of players before entering matchmaking. Inviting friends or joining players via the Steam overlay will help work around the issue. In addition to the matchmaking functionality the full game features dedicated servers, server browsers, and the ability to host games directly."

The match making is being looked into and will be fixed. I read an official post some where. Also, if you join as a group, the match making is much quicker (as we experienced yesterday).
