2010 TFC Reunion
Sunday Tournament Input
First: Depending on reception, I'm debating doing a 4v4 or 5v5 Murderball tournament. Minimum of 8 (32, preferably 40 players) teams registered to be functional. Registration will be casual. There will be a registration pool that everyone can sign up for 1 hour prior to the event. People pick their own teams from there, and anyone short or without a team will be placed. This will allow planning out of the event based on number of participants.
Layout would be simple, 4v4v4v4 or 5v5v5v5, 1 Demoman 1 HWGuy. With a minimum of 8 teams, it'd be the top 2 scoring teams from each round advance to the next round. If there are 9 teams it'd be be reduced to 3 teams per server and top 1 advances. Any other number combination will be worked out accordingly.
Second: The main tournament I'd like to try to run. I want to gauge interest on here to see if it's worth doing.
Basically it'd be a "snowball" tournament. Again, casual registration. It'd be 3v3 to start. Once the first round is completed, format changes to 6v6. From there 10v10. Format may change to larger or smaller depending on registration.
Basically, even if you lose, you can join another team of your choice assuming they aren't full. If your team is the winning team from any round, you have to continue to play with that team until you lose.
The maps will not be standard fare as they'd be designed to be based on entertainment rather than competition. For the first round, I am considering 3v3v3v3 Bounce Snipers only with top 2 teams advancing and for the second round banana_r (hide and seek CTF map) and haven't decided the final round. Maps are completely subject to change based on suggestions and community input. So is format. This is a interest gauging announcement and anything in it is not set in stone.
