Samsung TV Steam Link Release Candidate

Samsung has published their release candidate build in the US app store.

Fixes in this build:
  • Fixed initial pairing and discovery issues
  • Added support for advanced streaming settings
  • Added support for 4K streaming on 2017 TVs
  • Finalized shipping controller support (Steam Controller, XBox 360 wired and wireless, XBox One wired, Logitech F510/F710)

Please make sure you have installed the build dated 7/24/2017 and respond here if you're running into any issues.

Note that XBox One wireless and PS3/PS4 controllers are not supported.

What about apps for other Platforms?
I am looking at Fire TVs, Raspberry Pis (maybe even a new OS) etc.
There are a lot of devices capable of streaming, see this old petition that unfortuntely never got traction:

You really can't say a console-like OS is in competition with a web browser OS. They have different functions and audiences, so there really can't be competition between the two.

Ya they're not IMO. Even if they were they've already proven that's not an issue as Google allows Spotify despite Google Music and Valve allows both HTC Vive and Occulus Rift despite having a vested interest in the Vive.

How are Google and Steam competitors? Steam is a distribution platform for games. Google is not a game company, and has actually made VR apps that were packed in with the HTC Vive.
