Steam Controller Update

We’re currently busy hand-building ten of the very latest iterations of the Steam Controller prototype to bring with us to GDC.



These prototypes incorporate much of the testing feedback we have received so far and the changes that were announced at Steam Dev Days .

Even though our limited internal play testing has been going really well, we're excited to get some feedback from our customers on these latest changes.

For those of you able to attend GDC next week, please drop by our booth, as there will be some demo stations set up with the latest prototypes for play testing and feedback gathering. For those of you not able to attend GDC, for now we wanted to at least share a photo of the latest design changes:



We will be posting more updates very soon about the continuing testing, development, and refinement of the controller. Your questions and suggestions are what will ultimately shape the Steam Controller, so keep them coming!

It's as perfect as it is!
Incredible design,
TRACK PADS instead of analog sticks,
CUSTOMIZABLE controls,
This will be very good for my Black ops 3 and Rocket League

I would prefer this for the track pads.. Why the he'll would you want to use thumb sticks on a ps4 or even Xbox controller they limit your ability to move this will move as fast or as slow or as precise as you want it too. I don't know about anyone else but I feel this is an important feature to a game pad.

This looks...okay, except what happened to the touchscreen in the middle?
That's pretty much *THE* reason people wanna buy it. Oh, and the trackpads...
The new buttons seem okay too. I don't get why people hatin'.

@wiregrind Wii's always been for all ages. So with the GameCube...to an extent. Now, Wii U? Miiverse? That crap? Dude, you can barely say "damn" on the Miiverse without the staff banning your account forever. Also, for the DualShock 4, there's already drivers out for 'em. Includes DualShock 3 drivers. You can use it like a regular Xbox 360 controller.

Lost interest, at this point it's worse than other console controllers like the Dualshock 4 or the WiiU gamepad. Get the touchscreen back, I'd rather get a Dualshock and wait for the PC drivers to pop out than to get this.

Please if you must keep making changes just leave the dual track pads as a option recent pics online with one trackpad have me worried...
