The way this has been handled is really amateurish and insulting toward the community...

They distribute keys like you would throw bread to a starving crowd. And to add insult to injury they only invite generalist websites who workship CoD to the party. Lucky them if even half of the key distributed are used more than a couple of hours before these people go back to their usual games.

Tripwire has been so disappointing since the gruesome release of RO2. They don't give the slightest f*** about their community, they just want to appeal to the general audience no matter what.

I would rather prefer to buy a key for 1€ or something then to lurk those crazy gaming sites :(
Jaqarll May 10, 2013 @ 12:42am
I don't even want to think about how many of those keys end up not getting used more than a few minutes...

Totally agree with the bull way they are handling this. They know plenty of fans want to play but instead of running a pre purchase offer that allows people access over time before release, they mess players around by forcing them to whore themselves out to random websites to generate hits for them. Congratulations Tripwire, you regain some kudos for the recent work on the game and the regular support and then again slap the loyal fans in the face with this crap, I hope all of the COD kiddies who got the keys are enjoying themselves, and the few who did get a key have fun. The rest of us will be along eventually.

Kind of BS that people that have played the game since the Unreal Tournament days have the same chance as people who have just heard of the game today and who have no ineterest in tactical realism.

At least have the game ready for preorder. I would rather pay now, and not play, knowing that I would eventually get to play a full game, than go patroling websites for keys that can only be obtained via registration.
