RA2Lover's comment is correct in that raising a price excludes anyone below the mean. Of course, this case is if the price will be fixed indefinitely. It's better business to keep an initial price high for a little while to profit from those who would buy high, but then drop to an ideal price during a sale to $4.

Buyer interest follows something similar to an exponential. Using an exponential fit and d/dP( P*V(P) ) = 0 to maximize muns, the best price is $3.98 (hooray -1/k.) With the newly raised price of $11, these voters would give $320 total. With a lowered price of $4, the same event would get more "voters" and give $674.

Haha I love this! Cmon guys cut them some slack, they are trying to be open and honest and everyone is bitching about it... AAA titles hit the shelves at 60$ without telling you SQUAT about their calculation and everyone is like: "UHHH SHINYYYY, MUST HAVE, NO SOUP FOR YOU TODAY CHILD!"

I am unsure it was a good idea to present how you calculated the new price.

@ackstorm
That's a stupid way to think, though.
Nothing else to lose? And what do you think they would gain from voting for higher prices? Surely not more friends to play with. People who vote for a higher prices because they want to "grief" others would have voted that way whether they own the game or not.

ackstorm , as we said, players who don't own the game also may participate in the survey, but even if no, they are already bought the game, so they are don't have a reason to lie to us.

Other people who already paid and have nothing to lose by voting higher then get to boost the price for everyone else?! Nice work!

@Artaani
Deadlock is just a salty troll anyway (cmon, private profile and flame about stuff that's completely fine). Don't take his statements seriously.
Not to mention everything below 20€/$ is still below the average. One is either so poor that he couldn't even pay the power bill or one is just a troll if you he complain about it.

RA2lover, even if we will exclude options 18 and 20 from calcualtion, the result will be 10.67. It is still the same result after rounding. Besides, not sure why we should exclude these options. Statistical bias can be located everywhere, both in 8 or 20.
