In celebration of the 13th anniversary of EVE Online on May 6th with Capsuleer Day and the EVE Online: Citadel expansion, we offer EVE Online on Steam for free this weekend from May 5th to 8th without any restrictions.

Our friendly community is standing by to welcome new pilots in their midst and if you need help starting up and learning the ropes, you can follow this link to find all the help you need.

With the EVE Online: Citadel expansion, we have introduced many new features to EVE Online, and deployed massive improvements. The Community has been extremely busy[updates.eveonline.com] in game, fighting the largest conflict New Eden has seen in years. Now we can celebrate all of this with all of you!

New Players

Q: How to claim the weekend offer?
A: Navigate to EVE Online's product page linked above and hit Play Game button. After downloading the launcher and fully updating it, please restart it to get an account creation welcome screen. Once you finalize the account creation process, you should be all set. Welcome to EVE Online

Returning Players

Q: How to claim the weekend offer?
A: Navigate to the account management page[secure.eveonline.com] and login into your account via Steam. If your account is eligable, you will see Specials button on the right top corner. Click it and accept the 3 day special on the next page. Welcome back to EVE Online

installed EVE via steam, got a 14 day trial but I don't see what the diff is with the free weekend? It's not a full version. Says you can't train mining barge for example.

Any explanation on subscription fees? Steam states that there's a 40% discount, but when you add it to cart the actual price is same as on CCP website.

Doesn't work. No 3 free day. Game won't even launch.

Launches outside of steam fine, but no 3 days. In steam if you launch it says "preparing to launch eve online", then the box goes away and nothing. I'm done trying to fix it, going to the movies. Maybe in another year EVE.

Ccp have replied. Basically if you made your account before 2013 then you are not eligable for the 3 day free promotion. Bummee but still cannot see that in the advert.

Played from 2006 to 2010, noticed the Free Weekend, though hey I would give it a shot and see if I could get back into it....no free weekend for me either apparently, so I guess I just wont bother.

Friendly community??? that is hilarious. Unless EVE has changed a great deal, friendly is NOT an descriptor I would use.

Wanted to give the game a second lookover, after not playing for looong time, but as the posts before mine, i can't activate the 3 free days. So maybe i give other old games a chance that support possibly returning players.
