I hope to see reballance of direction locked weapons and less penalty for autoaiming turrets. Its stupid that having your weapons locked in one direction dues not give you anything, without mentioning that AI can't use it when it piloting a ship. About independent targeting : 1. I can't imagine captain of battleship personally controls all cannons while having about 100 gunman. 2. In terms of ballance : when player controls for example railguns he will do more damage then auto turrets would, because AI manages to miss even with railguns that have 99% acc. 3. Independent targeting cannons harder to use due to their stupid behaviour : they will not stop firing when there is friendly ship in the way (becouse of this I ruined reputation with 2 countries)

and if you want bigger guns guys, you can always place some turrets in a group instead of all being shattered around your ship

i think they want you to make that kind of ships, that the shipss are balanced and not focused on 1 weapon type or something like that, because on the moment thats basicly it.

*sigh*
There is no point in saying your only good against 1 type of foe with a SPACESHIP.

SW for best examples ever : ISD is good against ANYTHING and weak against NOTHING. It has Decend AA, Massive Firepower against capital ships, good speed and manouverability, Fighter and Bomberwings (more than 100 Tie's per ISD). Search for a weakness in that design, and yes, the lack of AA ability in the anime and movie's is sadly duo to not nearly being able (moneywise) to show what they are truly capable off (every SW simulator ever, its a nightmare to attack an ISD headon in NO MATTER the ship, you need to get their guns distracted, otherwise your dead). Best shown by the short anime Tie Fighter, they have guns and those guns seem to have guns themselfe and those have missles!

Wie siehts aus, wird man mehr Waffen an Bord haben können? Das wäre echt nice :) Und eine anpassbare Waffengröße... :P

"Chainguns will be a possibility but we’re with this update we're also adding anti-air weaponry that is specifically made for defense against fighters"

This gives me vibes of the Multigun and Heavy Corvettes from the first Homeworld game.
Please something like that?

Artarda, i think it's a good idea, but i think in that case, you should give turrets a stat, like processing power multiplyer, so that it is not linear, but that, for double the size, you need four times the processingpower, maybe something like size^2 processing power/turret. this way, huge turrets won't be spammed, because they take a lot of processing power. but a billion damage is maybe a bit to much...

also, do computer cores improve processing power by a lot? like the 5 times multiplier to the volume your ship has?

and guys, plz keep in mind that the missiles don't get worthless because of the torpedoes.

i think real fleet formations and strategies would benefit warfare, more asthetically pleasing enemy ship's instead of the (children's lego creations). this update could be very pleasing.
