I am unable to view 6K or 8K 360 videos. I exported them as cineform mov files. I have vlc and the cineform codec on the machine. GoPro VR player is able to play the video but that player only supports the Rift I would like to be able to review on the Vive as well. Any suggestions on how that can happen? 4k h264 mov files work fine but the max size for h264 is 4k. thanks!

I still have the issues with playing Video: HVC1 3840x3840 59.94fps ...freezing after few seconds and then app stopped working, acording your notes it should be supported now. Is there anything needs to be done to make it work ? thanks

Sorry for the troubles with the mouse cursor, I will work on resolving those. The previous method I used to draw the cursor degraded the performance considerably with multi-GPU setups so I had come up with a different way of rendering it. It looks like there are some edge cases that I didn't catch. Thanks for bringing those issues up.

Irrelevent to most but I use Virtual Desktop exclusively to play Overwatch; don't know if it was the recent Overwatch patch or Virtual Desktop itself as they hit before I could test them seperately but ... several issues have sprung up in the last week.

The mouse now has a white block semi-surrounding it primarily to it's right. No major issue, just a eyesore.

Theres a new FPS dip issue during performance heavier portions like with several particles and characters on screen, used to be could handle any sort of effect going off at once with no dip at all. However, now, I go from 90 to 42 depending on the situation. Now by all rights it could be the patch Blizzard did screwed up something, but it's equally possible that the issue causing the mouse overlay problem is having a notible impact on performance in some way too.

Either way, I wish I had the last version of Virtual Desktop to test.

- Still even with the issues, props to the devs for continuing to support and update this =)

@/r/ggodin,
I'm interesting in using Virtual Desktop + Tridef to bring some games into VR using the Direct-to-HMD SBS mode (either with or without correction). However, when I try to run this, I can never get the images to converge. What size and aspect ratio is Virtual Desktop looking for to give a non-distorted and properly aligned image in Direct-to-HMD SBS?

Thanks,

I'm also experiencing cursor problems and the Rift going black in certain instances. I noticed this primarily in Photoshop. The standard arrow cursor showed a large square in the rift (but not on the monitor) and when switching to a brush tool, when the cursor moves into the working part of the window, the Rift goes black. When the cursor is moved back to the edges, the screen comes back on. I changed my cursor setting from "Standard" to "Precise" and that fixed the black screen issue, but still having odd graphic glitches with the cursor itself. Very strange.

Since the update, virtual desktop crashes on startup on my setup.
I noticed that Yesterday, but I thought it would be a widespread issue and would be fixed by now.
It did not crash before under any circumstance, and nothing has changed in my way to operate my system. Now when I try to launch the program, it crashes "Virtual desktop has stopped working".
I'm on Win 8.1, with Titan x, i7-6700K, 32g ram ddr4, etc.
On Vive.
btw, I verified the cache, even uninstalled reinstall. I

so my screen has started to go black when I drag my mouse on an inventory item within a game, it didn't do this until today and I haven't changed anything on my PC

What happens is the rift is basically turning itself off during certain dragging actions within the game, but not generally when moving the mouse with the left click held, its only in some menus

Much appreciated update, especially as a 4k+ SLI user.
