Any advice on how spawning works? Im looking to found my colony, but I cant seem to find a Name Eater... How far should I go from Chelonate to get a new spawning? Thanks anybody!

Also any tips on getting the non-salt curses? Thanks

Very nice song by Dan Bull, encourages me to play this yet again, despite its many easily rectified frustrations...to name one of many, I've been able to buy the same ship I have, losing all the money, for absolutely no difference in ship, the best I could get from that deal is a ridiculously overpriced repair of the hull, 10X the most expensive option in the Wolfshead docks or whatever. I'll plan to review the game at some point after I've given it a few more chances, it also helps to actually read all the content of the islands and such so you fully appreciate the world and know what is going on, but for me at least that can feel quite repeatative since there isn't any voice acting, but that's the style of the game.

@sedric.mobara: This is a known issue. For some reason you can only click the "accept" button to choose your background by speaking to an officer AT SEA, not at port. Don't know if/when it will be resolved, but I ran into the same thing when I first started playing.

Aside from that, I haven't encountered any bugs.

Front page says also it's free to try until 7 pm MEZ which is in roughly 7 hours. Didn't have time to try it until now and had to sadly notice that it allready stopped early. ;(

Hi folks. The discount does extend after the free period. It would be a bit mean of us to make it end at the same time! That way, you would play until the free ran out and find you'd missed the discount. The Steam ad on the front page has it right: you've got until 10am PST / 6pm GMT to pick it up at 40% off.

@the-truthseeker: Holy pneumatic ratsenders, Batman! 300 hours? and only 90% complete! I can only imagine what kinds of lineages you've had. How close to any of the Ambitions have you gotten, just out of curiosity?

@Magnvs: Speaking for my own experience, though I found myself thoroughly sucked in when I first glanced the free weekend notice (upon loading up the client and having it pop up in the "Updates" steam browser frame), I did encounter an exceeding frustrating bug which forced me to break the "no-save-game" thing, exit out, and reload:
it happened both times I started a captain and originally chose the "no past" thing, then spoke to an officer later to choose a past and a Name for myself.
That name-and-avatar overlay screen got stuck, and the "Accept" button would not make it go away.

There was a different bug with loading a new save-game in Port Cecil that said "your port has been updated" and then moved my boat several minutes worth of fuel South of the edge of the map. oops.

That said, I played it for over 20 hours just in this free weekend; those and one other minor thing were the only bugs I encountered.

In July there were some looping bugs sticking you in Pigmote for example but those who updated the patches got out of it. Other bugs I have no idea.

What are those bugs? I played it pretty intensly in Feb last year and don't think I ever came over any bugs
