Morters should work like a mod. When the cooldown is over, you can launch one with a much larger radius and 5 second travel time to a designated sector of the map.

Completely agree with goochie here. Artillery should be a specialized support weapon, not an all around ground killer like it currently is.

Mortars aren't artillery as they stand, they're grenade launchers that shoot 500kg bombs...

Give them the range they should always have had (the same as SMG/plasma/rail) and a proper minimum range and elevation (minimum flight time of 1 second and minimum elevation of 30 degrees) to get rid of the point-blank mortar spam and bomb-boxes, and make it a long-range artillery-type weapon like the one we've been asking for since 2014.

lol "Heavy artillery", Plasma i can agree with but the mortar's range is not far enough to be artillery. Plasma is a better mortar then the mortar.
