@chaos Level cap will be raised at some point when more content is implemented that warrants it.

Suggestion: I think the level cap could be removed entirely when running on the Oddity system, since that comes with anti-grinding built in. Under the Classic system, I'd say raise it to 30 when Core City comes out, because task difficulty is clearly continuing to scale up in new content.

In general, I feel like Underrail has a difficult but very satisfying character development rhythm and it's a shame to wreck that with a level cap.

@Chaos - I experienced the same thing. I was setting myself up to start putting points into Melee and then hit the level cap. The good news is that the experience you get from collecting any remaining 'Oddities' seems to still be counted. If you hover over your exp bar you will see it says something like 46/15. Hopefully the level cap might be removed at some point and those extra exp will count instantly.

I'm rather disappointed in the new encumbrance system. A big part of the fun in my experience with Underrail so far was the ability to collect stuff. Sure, I was carrying a huge assortment of odds and ends, but assembling that assortment helped keep it interesting. For example there are quality grades - if I have items A, B and C it's nice to pick up a slightly better version of A, B or C to improve the collection... There's also that lingering background thought that maybe some of these treasures will prove useful in an unexpected way, or maybe I'll be able to create something awesome out of the bits and pieces (typically not so much, but hey hope springs eternal). And when you did want to sell a bunch of stuff, being able to do it at one merchant helped to keep things from becoming too tedious / annoying.

I wouldn't be against seeing an encumbrance system just for what you have equipped, but of course that would serve a very different purpose.

great game. By now i played the free demo, and now the updated 01.10 version.

The new economy system is nice, makes the game much more chellenging, altho expanding the amount of items that shopkeepers are buying would be nice.

Maybe changing it so, that shopkeepers selling certain items (weapons for example) only buy items related to this branch (weapons, weapon components and ammo) that would make more sense in a postapocaliptic world, where resources are scarse.

Great update! I gotta say, though, running into the level 20 cap like a brick wall (with no idea it was there) was profoundly unpleasant. I hate level caps 100% of the time, and running into one in a game like this where it's incredibly hard trying to get to where I can craft anything even slightly decent and still function in combat is table-flip enraging.

After the recent economy update I would really like to see some kind of player housing added to the game. In a game like Underrail I really want the freedom to play the game as though I am in my characters shoes. In a post apocalyptic world there is no way that you are going to leave things around on dead bodies etc when you could keep the things you find while exploring to sell or trade for other items that you may need.

I feel that a place to call home and a way to quickly get there would allow the people who like to play the market/hoard/collect to do that if they want to.

I love the new experience system. It really gives you that extra incentive to search everywhere carefully and really explore. This does however bring me back to the first point about the economy because with exploring comes a lot of loot. A lot of loot that either can't be carried now because of the weight allowance or can't be sold/traded because of the way merchants work after the recent update.

I suspect that Core City isn't part of this update, which is unfortunate. Though I haven't explored all of the caves. I tried the new XP gathering system, which isn't terrible, but I still wish I got some experience out of the quests, even if it was just one point. I also like and loathe the new economic system, at the very least expand the amount of items that shopkeepers are buying because it gets tedious having to move loot from a stash to a merchant when you discover they're suddenly buying an item you have in abundance. I do like that the items you sell have more value than before.

Is Core City a part of this update? I'm having trouble finding it if it is. I can't find anyone who can give me directions and I've wandered the underrail and caves for over five hours just randomly exploring in every direction I could think of. Other than that small hitch I'm loving the new content.
