Fantastic update.

I'm glad you guys are implementing trooper skills and trooper customization. Remember, thats what makes games like X-COM so memorable!

The star unlock method seems to be inherently flawed, there are only a certain set of missions available, which means if I download more gun mods, there won't be enough stars to go around. I'm hoping you guys remove the star unlock mechanic. That being said, I hope you guys can add a sweep mechanic to the troopers so I don't have to keep clicking around and pointing him when I want him to sweep a room.

The gun length is important (and insufficiently represented in the stats) as a long weapon will intersect with obstacles, walls, doors, team-mates and force the trooper to go Low Ready. This means he can't shoot and when the way is clear he takes a fraction of second to get back on target.

Note that troopers that are travelling in close formation are able to shoot over the shoulder of the person in front of them.

Does gun length play any part in game? I feel like the H&K G36C is shorter and lets the troopers keep it trained in tight spaces. It might be why the bullpup is so expensive.

1. Thanks for the reply Vulpe, I see your point I didn't know you could change camera direction or stuff like that.
2. Vestergaard, I personally find the Bullpup far superior to the M4. Maybe it's just personal preference. However since they added the new rapid fire SMG I haven't used the Bullpup. The SMG is awesome!
3. In the Doctrine tree the shotgun upgrade called the "Door Hinge Takedown" doesn’t seem to do anything. I have tested it every way I can and cannot see what it does. My shotgunner still kicks down unlocked doors and still shotgun breaches locked doors. I also tried putting a bad guy in front of the door when it was blown open to see if you were just joking about the bad guys head thing. It didn't do anything (so you were :). Maybe I'm missing something but can somebody please tell me what it does, I cannot figure it out.

4. Some of the gun stats are completely useless. For instance, all the shotguns fire at different rates but they all only have 1 bar in the gun stat bar for ROF, maybe this is because you are comparing them to all the guns such as handguns or submachine guns which obviously fire way faster. Can you please change the stats to only be comparisons for that weapon class (handguns vs handguns etc. not handguns vs shotguns). It would make the stats much more helpful as currently I generally have to test them out for myself... (I know it would be quite a bit of work though)

I'm not sure I understand why I would want to pay more to unlock some weapons instead of others? For example, the SAR18 bullpup rifle is worse or equal to the M4 in all aspects, but costs A LOT more. Have I missed anything?

Regarding the single trooper challenge, you can't do it in the training maps that don't offer a deploy screen.

The other two can be obtained in the same run, but its not obligatory. I plan ahead but pause a lot to see what happens, and the challenge does allow some leeway with spy cameras and aiming directions.

Other players go at it real time, with no planning ahead. Starcraft 2 style :D

Oh sorry noticed onbe more thing, with the other two challenges, they are pretty much the same thing, "use a single plan" and "don't pause". If you have to use a single plan then there is no need to pause right?
