I'm trying to download the demo but everytime i press the button the game page were reload but there's no other reaction. Anyone know anything about this problem?

I know this has been brought up a few times ... However I haven't seen a definitive fix yet... Just trying to play the game and the process starts (and is using a full CPU core - so it at least thinks it's running) but nothing displays. The resolution does change - although I've tried placing a config file as suggested elsewhere which stops the resolution change. The config file did not already exist. The game starts completely normal. Then immediately closes. Or rather, it acts like it starts, but it doesn't start. In fact, it ACTS like it was closed. But it wasn't even started. I could attempt to start it now, look in my Library and find that it tells me I've played it today....

I remembered playing Pontifex years ago and was really excited when I saw this on steam, so I picked it up, but unfortunately I haven't been able to get it to launch. I tried verifying the game cache, deleting local data and redownloading, then I tried installing directX as the steam support page says to do, but nothing has worked.
