there is an issue where the people get stuck in space, and when remove buildings and u get raid party, you can no longer remove that object, and some issue with placing floor tiles or starting a game with floor tiles already able be built (the square yellow thing)

technicians now destroy objects instead of fixing them....

That being said it would probably be more interesting if things like emergencies affected peoples morale more directly. Being pulled away from sleep to go on security because of a pirate vessel should drop a security guards mood.

Finally each character having an experience bar so we know when their skill will improve and a list of stuff affecting their mood currently (in positives and negatives so we know what is working and what to adjust to make the mood better) When it says that they need socialization, for example, and there is already a bar, how do we deal with that? What actions can we take?

At this stage I'm probably irritating and I don't want to assume you've not thought of these things, but here goes.

The roster would be more useful if there were more ways to view information all together. For example instead of having to scroll through each and every profile there should be an overview list with each member and their needs and moods.

When we assign new activites (beacon) to a specific groupof people it would be helpful to have a pop up stating what they are doing now and why they can or cannot respond immediately. There should also be an emergency tag to pull them away from their current activites.

There is a glitch with wall hangings like monitors and pub neons. If it's hanging on a wall angled towards the bottom right then they hang properly (at least on my copy of the game). If it's on a wall angled to the bottom left then the item hangs in mid air 1 space from the wall.

Could technicians and security personnel be given an ability to be assigned specific zones?

Also an issue wuth characters just hanging out in space until they die. They never return or try to return. Individual control of characters, or some kind of rescue squad or medical personnel added to the game would make things more interesting

Finally I designated security, was boarded by hostiles. They stood around playing handheld games or panicked as the hostiles simply shot at them til everyone was dead. I tried a beacon, but no one appraoched the beacon. The citizens respond very slowly to everything. I agree with other commenters that a more direct ability to command and repond to different situations (including the oxygen issue of characters waiting too long to come in) would make the game play a hundred times better.

A minor idea: Things like beds and space lockers can only flip in two directions. Certain Items need to be placed into a wall and when they can only rotate two directions it limits where we can put them because the back of the item can only face two places

Yikes! Another one! I installed an extra 2 O2 recyclers and instead of the oxygen replenishing the entire base just lost all of its air! The technicians DID build them too.
