Thanks for the update! Time to go make sure all my puzzles still work :D

Let's say a puzzle has a cannon shooting a cannonball from the right side of the screen all the way to the left.
On the left side of the screen the cannonball lands on a flashlight next to a magnifying glass which triggers another cannon.
This second cannon ball is supposed to drop down right in the middle of the screen to solve the puzzle, but instead, just like the first cannonball, it flies all the way across to the right side of the screen.
So I add a checkpoint like you suggest.
Then I put a vertical wall halfway across the screen to stop the second ball, and make it drown right down the middle to solve the puzzle.
I then start playing from the checkpoint.
However the vertical wall is also in the way of the first cannonball, so it won't ever reach the left side of the screen to create the situation where I added a checkpoint in the first place.
How would that work? :)

Mr. Blue, that's a fine idea. Don't really know why I never even considered it before.

I second Mr. Blue. Even if we can hot edit, checkpoints would be great for the really, really big contraptions. It's quite painful to wait 45 seconds for a contraption to get to the state we're working on at the moment. And, thanks gorilla nest. I'm glad to know you're involved with the community.

What about some kind of feature to create a checkpoint during the simulation where you could stop it, edit, and resume from that checkpoint instead of re running the simulation from the beginning every time?

The hot editing is very useful, and will most likely come back as an advanced feature that can be toggled on.

Yessss, finally we can drag things out of the playfield. I miss the hot editing, though. It felt very modern and intuitive, and could be very useful.
