This game requires a minimum with DirectMusic, which Windows XP has it I have it on a vmware, ones I play unreal 2 on Windows XP, the intro seems fine.

Hey Guys, I just bought and downloaded Unreal 2 on Steam here to start playing as I love the series! For some reason though when I launch the game it gets stuck on the splash screen and never loads the actual game. I can also see in task manager that it's trying to run as well (says it's running Unreal2.exe *32 but 0 CPU usage and holding 54MB in memory). Can anyone help me with this? I really want to get back into playing this game but not sure what to do! Here's what I have.... Windows 7 64 bit Gigabyt...

I had bought all these games on Steam a while back so thankfully I'm unaffected (though I never got UT 2003 but I have all the rest). I don't understand why they would do this. Do you not like money? Do you not like a continued revenue stream (maybe a revenue trickle, but still) off an old game that costs you nothing? Even if they took the master servers down, which I can understand as the games are old, they always came with a robust offline combat mode. Playing with the bots is almost just as fun. Much...
