Battlefield 3 will probably never get a release on Steam. EA chose to make their own platfrom Origin™[store.origin.com]. They only released Battlefield 3 on Origin because of money...

Anyway, there is nothing wrong Origin. Origin is just like Steam but is made by EA. EA may be one of the most hated, faceless companies out there whos only goal is pure profit no matter the cost so its share holders can be happy, but hey don't blame Origin.
