Finding people on steam

I tried to find my friend's account on steam, but when I looked it up, it said that the name didn't exists; even though he gave me his accout name. What do I do?

He needs to give you his profile name, not his account name.

If you have played together, simply select View/Players from the top left on steam.

Just go to your profile, right click on the page, "copy page address" and send this link to them via chat/IM/email.

I'm having the same issue as well. Can't seem to search for my friend eventhough i have her username and email. Nightmare

Get her to send you the URL address link to her account. User name and email will not find her as that's completely different from a profile name or URL.

Another thing to do is have them emai you their profile URL from the client. That was you can view their steam name or ID.
