Steam Sale Anonymous
Saw a great thread on somethingawful about how many unplayed/unbeaten games we collect, mostly games bought at the numerous Steam sales and received as part of a bundle, so thought I'd bring the discussion to the source...
I myself have 34 out of 99 games that are yet to be started, or have been started and are very far from being beaten. That's not counting open-ended and multiplayer games which can't be beaten.
Let's face it...We have a problem. It's not comparable to being an alcoholic or drug addict - I wouldn't want to belittle those problems. This is kind of a fun problem, but it is a problem.
Every single time I log into Steam, and I mean EVERY SINGLE TIME, I check the specials, even knowing how many great games I have lined up to play, and how many great games I have already beaten that I want to replay (Bioshock 1 & 2, Deus Ex:Human Revolutions being the ones I have my eye on at the moment.) I'm hungry for great games, and I'm hungry for a good deal, and these hungers add up to an almost obsessive desire to discover and play new games.
I'm currently playing The Witcher which is awesome, am dipping into Borderlands every now and again, and recently restarted Deus Ex:HR after discovering a debug mod which effectively gives me a 'new game plus' option by allowing me to add praxis points, weapons & ammo at will to start with the character I finished with...
Games not yet beaten but queued up to play include:
Mass Effect 1 & 2, Deus Ex, Deus Ex:IW, & Deus Ex:The Missing Link, Orcs Must Die! 1 & 2, Mount and Blade, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, and The Unstoppable Gorg.
They say that a problem shared is a problem halved, but in this case they are single-player games. Share anyway: What's your backlog looking like?
