The winner of cashgrabs.....
...Incredible Valve.. :D

Atleast you don't have to, but "30" people out of how many? 6 million? From one team, and probably ~300k people are spending into badges and 3 games in return is nothing in all honesty.

I know, i know i don't need to do that if i don't want to but this summer sales the customers aren't winning at all.. :D

It's actually kind of depressing.

Make it like 30 x 50 x 3, it's nothing compared to what valve gets on summersales plus on all the people making the badges. Valve earns 10~ cent per badge made. Imagine how many people will make a badge.

So apparently giving away free things is a 'cash grab' huh?

Note you don't even have to spend a dime to win. Just vote 3 times and you get a card. Presto you're entered.

It would only be a 'cash grab' if it was like those Chinese F2P games where the TOP PERSON who spends the most money per-day gets some kind of bonus. Otherwise a 'cash grab' where you don't have to spend any money to win, isn't a cash grab.

Valve is making a fortune. I don't care though, I just want my team to win for the sake of it.

I have a hard time believing that.

The fact that they're even giving away games for free is extremely generous.

Only greedy people will complain about giveaways. Be thankful Valve even does this.

Thumbs up to Valve.

They're not really giving away games. The Steam community is paying $100K+ to get 30 random people 3 games. Thank the community, not Valve.

Valve archived exactly this. No, this is not something i should be thankful. Sure they could do nothing, but infact they earn way more with their badges than giving away some games. This is how to make plus at its maximum plus having the customers on its side. :D

And i'm not the "uberbrain" but their marketing is incredibly good... :D

In the end people will be crafting these badges anyways for levels, collecting, and rewards. Winter sale they did not give away free games for crafting badges.

Again, only greedy people will be complaining about this. Good job guys

Not really. At least not as much. With this kind of race you're more inclined to craft more badges to get your team to the winning spot and grant yourself a chance for the free games.
With the current points Valve has already made more than 50 dollar assuming all points are from the new foil (100pt each) and all cards were bought from the market with a cut of 0,01 USD - so worst conditions. Not bad for no work at all.

You don't understood marketing, congratulations, you should visit college.

You have to actually refute the point not just make an ad hominem attack. Something you might have learned in college.

You criteria for "cash grab" is essentially "making money is evil"
