Valve group rules
Does Valve have any rules concerning private groups and if so where can I find them?

I am pretty sure those don't or least I have never seen them inforced in any private group. I imagine that does apply to the official groups though.

From the link page:
These guidelines apply to all places in the Steam Store and Community where users can post content. This includes, but is not limited to, discussions, comments, guides, product reviews, screenshots, artwork, videos, tags, Steam Workshop, and Steam Greenlight.

And just users in the groups do not enforce it dose not mean it dose not apply there
Any how why you asking?

This is probably a better link for what is and isn't allowed in groups.

Groups, for the most part, are what the owner wants them to be. Trading if they want. Sharing a hobby. Messing around. Whatever.

But they most certainly shouldn't be promoting illegal activity, being used to harrass others, etc etc. What most people call common sense, really!

My point was that private groups are not part of the community area.

Thanks Frazer, thats what I was looking for, the reason I was asking is because I know there are pornographically focused groups on steam and I wanted to know whether linking content inside said groups when that was the intended focus of the group was frowned on by Valve and that answers that question.

I'd say an overly pornographic group would be against the Steam Community rules.
