Comment notification, but no comments.
What I mean is that I have 3 new comments notification. But when I check it, there's no new comments, I can't tell which forum(s) has the new comments.

Is there a way to remove the false comment notifications?

Try post history and find where it is from there. Moderators have been on a spree with deleting and merging threads and it screws up the notification system. Once you find where it is just re click the subscribe to discussion thread button. Also a slow internet connection can do this as well along with the fact steam browser is not that great.

Clicking on "Mark as all read" fixed the issue.

it only shows when you have new replies in a thread.

to the right of the # in little writing. ex.."2 NEW COMMENTS since you last viewed this page - Mark all as read"
