New trading system
Does anyone else agree the steam forum trading rules are SUPER stupid and unintuitive. If you want to trade multiple games you have to go under each seperate game hub and put up that you're trading a copy of that game. Most people have NO idea that each game has its own discussion hub, nor would they think to look their for trades. Even more so, most people don't know they want to trade for a game for sure, but if they were to happen on it in a discussion forum that people ACTUALLY visit they might come across something they are interested in. Clearly steam does not want much trading to take place as it hurts their business model. Some may say it is to decrease th spam, but if you look at the posts on here there are only like 1 post per hour or so in the last couple hours so it is not like there is much activity. Oh well, three cheers for a flawed and poor-thought-out system. There needs to be a trading or marketplace discussion seperate forum area. Not that hard to do.

no I didn't thank you how do you navigate to that?
These are the old forums, what we are using now are the forums AKA discussions.

If you visit the steam sites via a web browser they will show up in the community menu named "forums". They don't show up in the client menu though.

But they are also linked here: http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/

Looking for the old forums? They're still available at http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/

Oh well good to know, but still doesn't take away the fact that they screwed it up now and the system sucks
Keep in mind that Steam doesn't want people to "trade" in any way; that's just a compromise to avoid the really unnecessary public complaints.

However, Steam only gets money from stuff that goes through their "community market". People just swapping trading cards doesn't give them anything.
but they shouldn't care, if someone wants to trade cards or a game for cards, they should allow it. Yes theat technically means they could maybe lose out on business, but systems like magic the gathering online allow trading and that also means wizards of the coast loses out on business. Steam is doing well enough and has done certain cool things such as allowing you to redeem codes youi bought on other sites, which once again means they lose money, but it is a decent thing to do.
You can trade on steam or any website that allows it. We dont want the forums spammed with junk trades.

You do not have to trade on this website at all, you can use the client for trading.
