Can't find and add my friend

Does any1 else have problems finding and adding friends ? And does any1 know how to solve this problem ? Am just hitting Friend button on top, then do a search on thier ID, which i know exist, but nothing can be found ...

Ok first what is the problem to add him?

And second what are you searching? the username? as much as i know the username cant be use to search
You can use the URL, The Display name and maybe the Real Name

for real life friends, make them comment on your thread such as this one.
(and i also don't know how to search for eople using steam client)

or if they are members of a steam group join the group and add your friends from the list of members.

I can't add my friends. When I add them, the steam said that their friend list is full.
