Has anyone gotten a discount on a good game through steam before?

Well, coupons are also a form of marketing.

However, there's a lot more "bad" games than "good" games -- so, a lot more coupons are for "bad" games as well.

Of course, with a generic "Indie games are bad" mindset you'll never get a "good" coupon. Or if you do, you won't recognize it.

While not all indie games are bad, the coupons always apply to games I don't want. Coupons don't add up with regular disounts are regular disounts are higher anyway.
Don't think they'd drop me a 33% Dark Souls 2 coupon.

There are coupons that do add up to regular discounts, but you can't get those by crafting badges. Some developers/publishers send those to owners of their previous games, i received some of those coupons from Devolver (Foul Play), Double Fine (The Cave) and Dejoobaan Games (Drunken Robot Pornography).
