First of all, if you are a gamer Mac wouldn't be the best choice, since there are so few games you can play if you compare with a Windows pc.

The hardware investment is higher and you will need to enjoy the Apple ecosystem that is used. Other then the lack of AAA releases you will find many indie developers release their games at the same time as PC. Also recent Humble Bundles is an example of great games on multiple platforms.

It definately had a shaky release, but the Mac Client along with most mac games run very smoothly. I game exclusively on a mac when on steam.

I hate PC's, nothing but problems....no problems with Mac computers, so for me, the best gaming computer. I have 32GB Memory and 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7 processor which makes games run smooth as hell. So if a game is not on Mac, I play it on Xbox. But there are more an more games for the Mac, as more and more people switch to Mac, so the future for Mac gamers looks bright!

So you have no clue about gaming/computers... I never got problems in my computer, not even using OSX on it.
Windows is much better on gaming than OSX or any Linux, and this is well know for almost anyone. Same hardware gives better framerate in Windows, and this is not an opinion, it's a truth. Working with Autocad, OSX is faster, so each system has is good point and sure gaming is not the one for Mac...

Here I let 2 benchmarks made to the same hardware, using Windows 7 and OSX Mountain Lion. I think it's clear enough.
