Help mic voice chat isn't working

I tried two different mics and my voice chat still doesn't work I opened up steam community went to settings tested the mic it was working but the noise won't go into the game. It doesn't work if it goes automaticly or if u hold and press a button. please help

that happened to me too, try checking master volume and the mic.

Does your mic work on your mac overall? That might be the problem

HI everyone i tested the mic it works but when I play a game like tf2 and i talk the little box that shows who is talking doesn't pop up.

Try to select your mic from the game options.
