Win 7 in 32 or 64bit?
I am about to bootcamp my mac and I am not a pc girl at all, am I better off using 32 bit or 64 bit for most newer games on here? I am only bootcamping for some of the games I would like to play. I bought windows 7 and also want to ask if games say windows 2000/XP will they work with the newer windows 7 or no, and if they do again 32 or 64?

At this point, definitely Win 7 64 bit. The 64 bit version of Win 7 does not have the compatibility problems that the 64 bit version of XP had. Most games that say 2000/XP should work on Win 7 unless stated specifically otherwise. Was there a specific game you were wondering about?

You should be fine. I personally have Mass Effect 1 with Win 7 x64 and have never had an issue and 2 says it supports Win 7.

Annette72,

How did it go? I have a new iMac and am thinking about getting windows 7 to boot camp games. But windows 7 is pricey!!! If I can get one for under $50 I will bite.
I have read games play much better in bootcamp. Are you seeing better visuals?
Thanks!!

Anyone heard of possible problems with your Keyboard not being recognized by Win DOS? I've been attempting to get this sorted out on my Mac Pro, I'm about to pull my hair out.

Mac Pro: 2.66GHz (10.6.8)
4 GB RAM
Trying to use available HDD Bay for a dedicated Win7 HDD.

Any other info someone may need, please write to me, I'll respond once I'm able (at work, not at home). Thanks in advance!

32-bit has a memory allocation limit of 2GB per each running process, regardless how much real or virtual memory is available on a particular machine. A 64-bit system is not subject to the same memory limitation.

Definately 64-bit.

When working with Windows, any opportunity for 64 bit, do it.
