Steam for Mac imrovements
Hello. There are quite a lot discussions regarding Steam for Mac, and I have decided to put most notable suggestions here, in one post:
- Notification centre support
- Make traffic lights OS X 10.7+ like, plus they should respect graphite appearance
- Shortcuts [CMD+W/H] should be working properly, according to OS X logic
- Full retina support
- Multitouch gestures
- Reduce idle CPU usage (I mean Skype is always close to 0 for me when idle)
- Fix occasional crashes

Ideally support for legacy OS X should be dropped and cocoa framework used instead. Most modern software requires 10.6+ or even 10.7+ anyway. Also, according to Steam hardware survey the amount of 10.5 users is so minor, its not even showed there.

I keep trying to use CMD+F in Steam for Mac but after the second try I realize it uses CTRL+F.

These would be really nice, especially full retina support, in my opinion!

Maybe some Boxer and Wine incorporation for some of the legacy DOS games? One can only hope...:)

I completely agree, Steam should focus on more support for the Mac, it runs more efficiently, and it is better for gaming overall.

If they read and abide by the Human Interface Guidelines [developer.apple.com]. Most of there problems would be solved.

Also, use notification center, please.
