Bootcamp boots your Mac as a completely native Windows PC, so your performance is dictated by the quality of the hardware you have and the drivers you install. I would recommend first installing all the bootcamp drivers and then upgrading your graphics drivers to the latest version available from the specific vender of your GPU (amd/ati, nvidia, or intel). Also, I'd give bootcamp a healthy partition size of at least 80 GB. That's your best bet on getting the most performance from your system.

The MAC runs windows nicely. Unfortunately it is windows :) but its worth it for the likes of repop due out soon. Had issues with Windows 7 on a late 2012 iMac with the USB ports but 8.1 Pro worked perfectly. Very happy with the result.

I am working on MacBook Pro from 2011 with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on BootCamp. Everything works great especially with new MacOS Maverics - worth trying and absolutely free for Mac users!!! Every function keys like backlight of keyboard works like a charm on Windows over Bootcamp. Easy and quite fast installation.

I recommend Boot Camp, even for games that run natively on Mac. Seems like Windows gets much better performance (for most games).

http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/

Click on the "Communities" menu then chose the "Discussions" tab under the "Boot Camp" header and read some of the questions/answers in the forums as any questions you may have it's been asked at LEAST a hundred times before.
Every thing you need is on that first page. Down load the Boot Camp manual and read it a few times and it will get easier every time you read it.
