Because they have not been ported, or the port is not on Steam.

If things don't work properly on Windows, something is screwed up with your installation. Games generally receive significantly more testing effort on windows than they do on Mac or Linux, due to market significance.

Yeah exactly what Kargor said, but I think your question is for the ones that do have ports. In your case, I guess it's because the games aren't yet optimized enough or your mac/linux computer (if it is different) has worse performance than your Windows machine.

My PC is 20X laggier (nice word) than my Mac. But there is a reason for that - yours AND my PC's have slower processors than our Macs (obviously). As the computers 1:1 are pretty much the same speed. But my Mac is faster and more so - I PREFER OSX over windows. So I bought a new Mac instead of another (I've had around 20) PC.

But games were not a big factor in selecting my newest PC. As to discrimination... that's like saying that there aren't many purses for Men! Developers - develope for the market. Not to be fair. = )

People always perceive companies as (if they owe everyone something) or are owned by all. companies are owned by ONE, a GROUP or a few top share holders. They don't have to be fair. They only have to turn a profit. I'd like more Mac ports, but I'm happy with what I have already. If more good games (battlefield and crysis) get ported - I'll buy them, but I really don't complain... else I'd use my PC or get a faster one.
