what happens when you try to login?

it just shows that "cannot connect to the Internet", and even now i cannot login. it's ok, i give up using mac to run steam. a total disaster.

That's not necessarily true, I'm running Steam on my Mac as we speak. Your firewall could be blocking the connection though

well, i think i really need to check firewall firstly, thx.
and i use mac to run steam, not for gameplay, just for talk or trade, however even i cannot log in, that's what i am really sad about.

I prefer Steam on my Mac - on it now, but I also open a window with win8 and run the PC version to download and run PC games on my Mac. (Talo) has no idea what he's talking about). PC's are archaic. I have a Frankenstien PC in my downstairs that never gets used anymore.
I got the Mac a last fall and Rocksmith forced me to install Steam. I hated the idea then but have learned to LOVE STEAM. I use it every morning instead of FaceBook now.
Here's my MAC steam library along with my PC games which I run on the Mac through parallel's.

Did you try creating a new account? just to make sure that your account on your other machine isn't blocking it? I run Steam PC and Steam Mac on my Mac and I have to log out of one to log in with the other. (using same account) because I download Mac and PC games on the same machine.

nope, i had already tried to create a new account, but unfortunately it is failed to create a new account. just show "internet problem" "cannot connect to the network" or others.

Yes - something you have installed or set on your system that is blocking Steam.
