How do I update a TF2 server

So hello guys I got a tf2 server but its really really outdated, but the problem is I dont know how to update a TF2 server and I've been wishing to update it for a long time so I can use it for some clan matches etc. I hope someone could help me with it. Please reply as soon as possible and Thanks in advance!

It depends how it was created: via STEAM Client or hldsupdatetool.

1. If it was via STEAM Client just go to your steam window/Library/Tools/Dedicated Server - right click/properties/updates and choose "Always keep this tool up to date".

2. If it was via hldsupdatetool : you must install hldsupdatetool.exe ,open a command prompt,
in there you type : cd PATH where you installed hldsupdatetool (ex: cd D:\hlds)
then you update it:
hldsupdatetool.exe -command update -game tf -dir PATH-TO-YOUR-SERVER
(ex: hldsupdatetool.exe -command update -game tf -dir D:\hlds )
And wait until it says HLDS up to date
