First of, running a game server as root is bad. There are plenty of exploits that let people upload and download arbitrary files from the gameserver, and from the whole system if it is run as root.

2nd, FreeBSD has a Linux Binary Compatibility layer that needs to be enabled/configured, read more about it here: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/handbook/linuxemu.html
