What is the real name of my graphics card?
Hello everyone. My graphics card is supposed to be intel hd graphics 3000. When I checked, it was Intel (R) HD Graphics Family. I updated my driver, and now it is version 8.15.10.2827. Some guy told me that this is intel hd graphics 3000. I am still not sure, so can anyone help?

I've only used this program once, but it seems to work. It's called Hardware Information. Comes in 32bit and 64bit...It's available in both portable and installable formats. I've used the portable one...just extract the .zip and double click, you will be prompted just ingnore the options and click run. then click the plus sign by video adapter, your info should be listed. There are other programs that can detect hardware, so maybe try googling for one...this just happens to be the only one i know of.

product website:
www.hwinfo.com/

direct link to 64bit portable version:
http://www.hwinfo.com/files/hw64_406.zip

hope that helps :)

So I do have intel hd graphics 300, but that still does not explain why I have Intel (R) HD Graphics whenever I check my display adaptor. Can someone please explain?

Because Intel was too lazy to name their driver appropriately...

The query performed by the Microsoft software doesn't identify the actual GPU version, it just identifies that it's an Intel HD Graphics chipset. Don't worry about it.
