Why does my GTX 650 keep on lagging on Desktop? And how to fix it.

When I drag a program it leaves a trail behind it instead of a clean slide. Sometimes it ever paints the screen with the program for a few seconds!
This also applies to when I open a program or a minimised window (it takes up to 8 seconds to load the components).
I'm not so sure what is going on with the GPU because it works very well on games, with very little FPS drops but it still takes for ever for the graphics to load up.

Are you using drivers from nvidia? I would suggest ver 344.11, the ones that windows installs are not the best.

That sounds like what happens when only the default OS drivers are present; please download and install the official ones for your GPU series & OS from either NVIDIA.com or Geforce.com
