Unless you have a apu, 1600mhz for gaming is plenty. You can see on youtube and other sites, benchmarks that show extra speedy memory doesn't do anything.
dont know about 4:3

APU?

Nope. GPU has it's own RAM, and RAM frequency has very little impact on the CPU power itself. Even the slowest RAM modules will be faster as any other part of your system.
Also 16GB is more than enough, you would be totally fine even with 8.

If you are bottlenecking yourself with something, is the desktop resolution. 5:4 aspect cannot be called modern anymore. I would suggest to get a new widescreen monitor before upgrading any part in the mobo.

I mean u have a nice system, it wasn't cheap...
Why u playing @ 1280x1024???
Why not upgrade your display to 1080p or something like that.
Rest of ur system specs are fine.
Depends on your budget. With a GTX 770 not even a 27" - 2560x1440 monitor sounds impossible. In the case that you have the cash and enough space to place it, cause they are really huge.

But of course even a 1920x1080 - let's say 24" would be a big jump over your current.

Then just plug your PC into HDTV via HDMI.
Enjoy the visuals a GTX 770 can provide!

is it hdm1 wire 1080p monitors take?

1280x1024 = 1 310 720 pixels
1920x1080 = 2 073 600 pixels

Nope, actually you performace will be a bit slower, due it must more pixels to display. Though I would not worry about this with a GTX 770. You should play any game with max settings on this card even on 1080p.

Here doesn't goes about performance but about visuals. Current games are designed for widescreen, there will be simply more stuff on your screen and it will be sharper, prettier.
Your current screen chops down or deforms and doesnt shows the true picture.
