Nobody can expect the future but my estimation would be 5 years but keep it to 1080p lol :D

gaming its good
i7 has no advantage over i5
770 is good for games on higher settigns
16g of ram is overkill for a gaming machine also

for rendering, vm, video editing/encoding
the i7 and 16g of fast ram will help

i used to buy pc gaming parts every 2 years it seems that the ghz race has slow down havent bought a new pc since 2011 since sandybridge cpu i7 2600k not worth the 10 percent increase from 4790k. mostly my upgrades have been videocards.

Not everything but just about. you are good for a while, The 2GB of Vram may start to be a little low even for 1080 in the few coming years as consoles now are using alot more memory. But there will be no game you cant play for many years

For 1080p you will barely ever need more. I think that the GTX 770 is the ultimate card for 1080p@60Hz but it may soon struggle with higher resolution:D

770 is great for 1080p, I estimate 1-2 years before you have to turn down the settings from ultra to high to maintain 60fps.

Well that may not be true. Even my overclocked 780ti cant keep 60 fps on crysis 3 with 8 x AA at 1080p or Witcher 2 with ubersampling. 770 is still a great card for 1080 and will be for a few years. Even my laptop 870M can keep 60 fps at 1080p in all games with just a few tweaks. Usually its the AA, Shadows and lighting effects that make a huge impact. I honestly don't see huge differences with these settings turned down on my laptop. I do notice the 20 to 30 fps increase though. High res textures, high resolution and filtering. Tweak everything else. Physx can be a ♥♥♥♥♥ to.

Better rig than mine, and I can run any game I throw at it on High settings at 1080p and get at the very least an average of 40fps. Only exception is Crysis 3, which I have to play at medium if I want a framerate that doesn't dip into the 30s. Should be good for a while.

crysis 3 is an exception, if everygame ran like crysis 3 then yeah, you would need a new card every 6 months to maintain a decent fps.

To me 8x AA is SOOO pointless Fxaa in that game to me with everything maxed looks better and my fps jumps to 120

FXAA adds blur and looks like crap in most games.

In most games (given you have a decent display) running at around 1080p or higher, you should rarely need any AA at all. However that kinda depends on the game engine; as some are better then others and I've seen alot that can look just fine without AA applied.

As far as a GPU like 760/770 having 2GB or 4GB; the 4GB is more for users who wish to SLI. Otherwise there really is no point in these in the 4GB flavor because those GPUs will never be able to utilize such VRAM; especially on any single screen.

I use 2x 770 4GB (I chose the 4GB cause of SLI); but i can use it; as I run 3x 1440p screens.
