What is the weak link?
Any idea what the limiting factor (Next thing I should upgrade besides better cooling) in my PC would be?

Specs:
» GPU: Sapphire Radeon R9 270X Vapor-X 2GB (2 In Crossfire)
» OS: Windows 7 Premium x64
» CPU: Intel Core I7 4770K 3.5Ghz (Might Overclock)
» RAM: 16 GB 1300mhz (Going To Upgrade Soon)
» Motherboard: GIGABYTE Z87X-OC
My power supply is some 750W one I am not sure what model

270X is probably the weakest component there. You could pick up something like a 770 or 280 if you have the money. Win 7 is absolutely fine. Why upgrade 16GB of RAM out of interest? Are you going to 32GB? 'cause that will yield no more FPS than 16, or 8. :D

Nvm I forgot they were in CFX. In that case, nothing is really letting you down.

The ram is only 1330mhz

Are you sure your motherboard hasn't set the RAM to 1330, when in actual fact it's 1600 stuff?
Yeah it said on the covering the guy who sold it to us and I can now check in the bios

Is always better to go for one powerful card as two mediums in Crossfire. Taking that you have i7 and 16GB RAM, I would say even R 290X or GF 780 is possible, assuming you have the funds for them.
Also regarding your RAM, 16GB is more as enough, 32 GB will mean no difference compared 16 in games. If you are worried about the frequency, sell your current RAM and get 2x8 GB 1600 sticks. Your MB supports it. Or check the book to your MB, maybe even 1866 is possible.

Weak link may be also the PSU if is some generic brand. XFX, Seasonic, EVGA - those brands have basically every model well made.

There is no weak link, it's pointless to upgrade this currently.

what are your main uses?

for gaming, get a better gpu
for video editing, rendering, vm, a ssd or faster ram will help more

either way, a good cpu cooler (212evo or h80+) will allow for a nice overclock

R9 270X is a good card but since you have a 4770k (and no overclock?) and 16 gbs or ram( I've run ram at 1333, 1600 and 2333 and saw little to no difference in framerates) I would say it would be the weakest link since some games dont scale well in crossfire. For the money a single 290, 780 or for a bit more 290X or 780 Ti would be my preference. Also you don't specifiy your hard drive with that build if you dont have an ssd that would probably be the first upgrade for me.

Yeah I have 4tb of normal HDD I am looking at SSD and so far the next buy will most likely be a clossed loop cpu cooler, as far as graphics go maybe I will change in a year but at the moment I can play every game I own at 60 fps fairly un-stuttering (with the exception of crysis 3 wich runs at about 40-50 fps wich I am fine with) so although not crossfire would be better I don't really want to pay for another card at the moment. And once I have the cooling I am going to overclock everything.
Thanks

Like i was saying any crossfire optomized game dual 270xs will own. Unless you want higher resolutions then the 2 GB of Vram may limit you. I have the same CPU as you I went 4.5Ghz at 1.210v and it's perfectly stable. I can go to 4.8 but am happy with the cool temps and low fan volume at 4.5 with the lower voltage. The 270x's i know have dual 6 in pcie's and will take a much larger overclock then the non x 270.

I don't know about that though my unigine valley one is 2643

It doesn't matter. It's all about in game performance. just wondering if my overclocked 780 Ti could beat a set of 270X's :)

Since you saved so much and all lol.
