PC building advice!
PC build help, I love AMD its cheaper and equally as powerful as Intel ETC.
First time build, really need to get an idea of what i want to be looking at building heres my build that ive been researching along time, my AMD build i think this is a solid entry level build.
I know i need an SSD but i will buy that in the near future for both of these builds.

Does my intel build compare to this? is it more powerful? better value for what i am paying?

really need a few tips and what i should do. Thanks for your help!

Why not go for a 270X in the Intel build as well?

Either way the Intel build is more powerful than the AMD build, at least in games. The 4670k wipes the floor with the 8350 in games, the FX only wins in something like video rendering perhaps, but if for gaming, better go with Intel in that price range.

Personally I'd go with a Seasonic PSU, but that's just preference. Well, I mean, they're known for their quality...

also, instead of the Phantom 410 case you could go with a Bitfenix Raider/Ronin/Shinobi, Corsair 200R, NZXT Source 210 Elite or NZXT H2 to save some. Those cases offer basically the same features as the Phantom 410.

ED: As for the PSU, do you really need 750W? Like, do you plan to SLI/CFX in the foreseeable future? Otherwise it'd be better to go for 500-600W 80+B.

tx3 will not allow for much of an overclock on teh 4670k

and 4690k /w z97 board will cost about the same

the amd build is cheaper, but will not keep up with the intel build

newer cpu, better cheaper gpu, mobo/psu capable for crossfire

can add a 240g ssd if you can go a little over £800

Damnit, _I_, beat me to it. Was about to post a similar config.

@OP, definitely go with what he linked. CPU, GPU are noticeably more powerful than your AMD build, has more hard drive space and a better cooler.

thanks Powl,
the bitfenix case is white, but has more room inside for gpu
the black odd will stick out like a sore thumb

aira has the black ver for slightly cheaper

The Intel build is more powerful.

I looked at the website Can You Run It, for battlefield hardline (new one, prepping for the future here) it said i could run it on high settings but if i crossfired the R9 280 (ive upgraded my graphics card due to it being a huge gap in preformance from the R9 270x) so if that was crossfired i would see a huge difference so i am thinking of that in the near future. I hate intel but its persuading me more and more but four cores? gaming is moving to six now isnt it? i am building for the future a processor that will last me a good year and a half - two years. I will have to research this into depth. Thank you.

ps. the builds people have sent me, ASUS fanboy over here. only want asus graphics cards. i used MSI as i dont like crossing Intel with AMD radeon GPU dont ask me why haha.

Could anyone help me how i could Improve my AMD without changing it all together.

intels 2 cores can beat amds 6 cores, and catching up to 8

games still rely heavily on 1 thread, which is why core speed makes a bigger difference over core count

More threads ^ on the cheap if you sway to intel.

Contraditcting _I_ 1 thread theory ^.

I would have to say getting more threads / cores be it amd or intel is a better bet for the long haul.

And another i3 trails behind blowing the theory.

Core count isn't all there is to the equation.
Also core speed counts and the architecture.

the AMD FX may have 4-6-8 cores, but it's always 2 cores in one module, thus two cores sharing cache etc, which results in lower performance than one actual own core would have.

That's why a 4-core Intel beats an 8-core AMD in games. Because the Intel cores are way more powerful than the AMD cores.

Hold up one second, Its around £50 more for intel, i am not a cheap skate but look at the far cry specs youve given me upcoast the fx was 1 Frame lower at a lower price than something that is stupidly over priced? the GPU is alot more important i would rather spend the extra 50 on a Higher preforming graphics card. i love AMD also as ASUS motherboards HUGE FANBOY and they are perfectly fit for it. still in doubt about intel and i dont know what it is...

Alll i need to say that the AMD is around 120, for only 20 pound more you can get the i5 3570k which has nothing on the 8350!

his benchmarks shatter it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4et7kDGSRfc

well, _I_ provided a good link/config up there.

Keep in mind, with AMDs you often pay some more for a good Mobo because you basically need the best chipset and a very good board so it doesnt run the FX at slower specs or throttled speeds.

Intel CPUs however are better in that respect and basically run the same in a 50 buck Mobo as in a 200 buck mobo.

ED: Look up gaming benchmarks. The general result is that Intel i5 are on par or better than FX8000 series.
That video, well, seems odd to me. I'm not doubting the legitimacy, but in all the other gaming benchmarks i've seen on various reknown sites, the better i5 beat the 8350 in most games. Yeah there's a selection of games where the 8350 wins, but that's a small selection compared.

the i3 ahead of the 6200 and not far behind the 8300 is trailing?

on bf4, the i3 3220 sits between the fx 6350,8350, and 4320,8120 right near the gpu bottleneck of a 290x
http://www.techspot.com/review/734-battlefield-4-benchmarks/page6.html
the game can use 8 threads, but 1 thread is

tomb raider is a poor console port, which is why it needs more cpu power on more threads
