Ingame browser improvements

I'm not sure wether I'm the only person using the ingame browser, but actually I do. Even pretty often. And to be honest, the browser isn't really one of the outstanding features of Steam, so here are some suggestions how to improve it.

According to it's user-agent the browser is based on Chrome / Chromium 18. The latest chrome version is actually 27. Maybe it's possible to update it more regularly as this might also be a security problem...

I'm also not sure if I just can't find it but is the only setting I can change the start page? Would really love to see at least some basic settings. There is no need for addons, but please, I mean the really basic basics for every browser...
- Add a browser settings tab in settings
- Add feature for cookie enable / disable / no third-party
- Add toggle for "Do-not-track Header"
- Add toggle for Flash enable / disable
- Add toggle for Javascript enable / disable
- Add feature "Clear cache"
- Add feature "Delete cookies"
- Add a history of visited pages
- Add feature "Delete history"
- Add feature "Block popups"

My ingame browser crashes pretty often. Not crashing the whole game, but it won't load any pages at all. It's just stuck. I can't scroll on my active page or reload. I can open a new tab but it won't load the page. If I close the whole browser and reopen it I'm also still stuck at the grey start page, Google (or my startpage) won't load. Not 100% sure atm, but I think when I kill the steamoverlay.exe process and try it again it's working again. So it seems that if "close" the browser I don't really close it. Is it possible to change this behaviour?

Compared to the Origin ingame browser the Steam browser is about half as slow. Sites take a long time to load as well as navigation often takes a deep breath (and it is already based on the fast Chrome...). So I think there is also some potential.

Quite often I have several open tabs but if I close my game these tabs are gone forever. Maybe you can add a feature like "Open tabs in desktop browser" which will minimize my game to open all tabs in my standard desktop browser.

Would be cool to get some other opinions about the ingame browser, also wether you use it or not and maybe some of my suggestions find it's way in a future update ;)

Thumbs up! I also think the browser is an really low effort browser. I can do the same in less than 2 minutes with visual basic, and visual basic is not even a real coding language :D All joking aside, I would really love to see some improvements :)

AGREED my steam/browser in game always fail, pretty much every time I open it it crashes/flashes then stops working. Also popups can not be removed, they stay as a white screen. +1

You seem to have pretty much covered everything. Another thing I'd like to see is a zoom function though. It was asked for quite a while ago and instead they gave us BPM, I still want zoom in the standard browser. The BPM browser is awful.
