There will be sometimes a heavy price reduction.Thats what makes Steam interesting.
This isn't just Valve's issue, it's the developers. Look at Stardock here on Steam, they generally have their games equally priced between regions, which is something they said they believed in before even coming to Steam. If a developer wants equal pricing, all they have to do is tell Steam to do so.

And that isn't much of a price diffrence. That could be explained as currancy conversion.

Meanwhile Portal 2 is just £10 retail by the publisher EA
