If you want full physx support, you may want to go with that 670. Both are beast cards op, but if it were me (and I wish it were - lol), I would get the GTX 670.

7970 with the latest driver is quite stronger than 670. Also AMD has confirmed that they will keep focusing on 7970 in 2013, so yeah I would say 7970 is the better choice overall especially when sharing the same price with 670. Well there is still one thing to keep in mind that AMD's driver could be a pain in the ♥♥♥ sometimes.

haha yeah im edging towards the 670 thats the whole reason im changing over is because of drivers the annoying and nivdia gameplay looks smoother amd seems a bit choppy at times.

I would say go 670. Most benchmarks I've seen show the 670 slightly ahead (although they're both extremely close).

Nvidia does get PhysX which is a nice bonus. They also have far superior driver support, although AMD is improving a little bit.

I've been an AMD guy for a while but now I'm using two 670s and I love them. It was an upgrade from two 6950s. I hated the driver support when I had my 6950s.

So basically both cards perform almost exactly the same. Nvidia has better driver support and a few cool features AMD doesn't have.

i have just bought the gigabyte 670 OC edition. i read up on the 670 and 7970, the 670 beats the 7970 and it's just behind a 680 stock which is impressive since it costs 70 quid less. thats the whole reason im going green because amd drivers are just crap put up with them for 2 months and i cant take it anymore haha. im not just on here to sell my gpu i sold it about a hour ago to my mate i just thought i would chuck it in in case anyone wanted a 7950 cheap

The AMD drivers are still pretty terrible overall

yeah i was looking at the 680 but i dont think the 70 extra is worth it if a OC 670 can on par with a stock 680. i dont like AA to much either makes stuff look blurry man meh, but yeah ati are crap so i aint going to be buying another gpu from them! nivdia from now on
