Total Steam Noob
I just got Steam, but I already have some games downloaded that are in the Steam catalog such as Warframe and Vindictus. When I go to my library to add games, it marks them as non steam games. I know they are available on Steam, but it doesnt say it is. Can anyone help me get this corrected so I can have the automatic updates to my games that do have steam support?

You could try Downloading the games through Steam and transfer your progress?

if you want steam support you have to buy the games on steam or you have a cd-key of the game that that you can activate(cd-key of games that you buyed at a store don't always have to work ,they useally don't,there is list of games that you can activate on steam if you a real copy (with cover and cd and stuff)

maybe your steam account is limited cause you have buyed any game on steam

you also can't add friends until you buyed a game(free to play games doesn't count)

Not all retail games can be activated on Steam.
The game being sold on Steam doesn't guarantee a retail key will activate.
For a full list of which retail keys can be redeemed, take a look here:
